hello, i really hate this but i went to go to the bathroom, and when i wiped i found blood on the toilet paper. I have a really bad fear of dying and Im convinced this time is for real. I have seen a doc about this, and she said it was definietly blood but she doesnt think it could be serious. She didnt give me a straight answer, and i found blood again today. I need some assurance .thanks

How much blood is it? Is it just a little streak? Is the blood bright red or a blackish color? I had a similar problem awhile back and it really freaked me out. In my case it was just a red streak on the toilet paper, which my doctor said was ok. He said that sometimes you will rip or tear or scratch the anus area when going to the bathroom. But if the blood is a blackish color it's usually a problem higher up in the intestines and should definitly be checked out. I dont know of any doctor that would ignore bleeding from that area if they thought it was serious and if he or she does they shouldnt be practicing medicine anymore. So I'm sure your doctor had a good reason for thinking it wasn't serious. Best of luck to you, I'm sure everything is fine.

I have done this before too... Been to the bathroom and found blood on the paper when I wiped.
I asked my doctor as well and he said this is normal because it's not a LOT of blood. More like the kind of bleeding you do when you have a hard stool or something like that.
I've had this on and off for a while now. Not every single time I go to the bathroom.
Believe me... If it's just a little blood, you're for sure not going to die.
I know someone who had colon cancer and they (this might sound nasty but I had to see just to know the difference) showed me in the toilet after they used it. Their stool was almost black (that happens when you are bleeding internaly and more than is normal) also, the toilet was FULL of blood (not just little drips here and there.. It looked like he dumped at least 2 glasses of blood in there (this is very bad - could mean a hemmorage, etc. -in his case he had a LOT of bleeding I guess from the cancer). So, the difference in having some blood when you wipe and having a real problem with the blood is a huge difference. If you pass a stool and you have a hemeroid (spelling?) anyway, it can cause it to bleed a little hence the blood on your toilet paper. Also, if you poop a lot through out the day then you can have blood when you wipe because the tissues inside of your rectom/colon are thin and easily torn when you have hard or large stools, or diahrrea which is why you get the blood on the toilet paper.
