First things first, im 18, male, and weigh about 125, only risk factor I have is not ever doing any kind of exercise and sitting around alot.

It all started about a month ago where I kept on getting sharp AND dull pains all over my body, my lower arms and and upper arms too at times. My left arm started feeling really heavy, that I noticed when I walked to school.

Next, I noticed that i had palpitations EVERY.SINGLE. NIGHT. went on for weeks and weeks.

Next thing is worse. I started getting a very strange symptom where when I laid down I felt like chest was bloated or that there is fluid in it. This went on for so long until IT happened...

it was 2 days ago now...I woke up at about 6 something in the morning, after going to bed at 4 in the morning from studying I noticed that my "fluid filled" chest feeling has gotten worse...I had trouble breathing and I tourned around a bit and tried to get comfy and then suddenly noticed that there was this awful pain in my chest, It felt like someone punched me right in the middle of my chest and left their first stuck deep in me, it was dull and achy. Heart rate was normal but maybe a teeny tiny bit low, it was about maybe 60-65 beats per minute, I felt like vomiting up my whole chest, and I noticed that the pain radiated to my left upper arm and armpit area and shoulder, in these parts the pain was very dull and achy, it sort of throbbed. it went away after about 20 minutes but left me with this heavy feeling in my chest for the whole time, I had trouble standing up straight, not only that but both of my upper arms felt tottaly sore.

I went to work and there I had palpitations but felt pain after each beat which only lasted for like 5 seconds, but it was awful, again making me feel really nauseus.

Couldnt go to ER cause we have some small issues right now that prevent us to go but we tried to go to teh doc on friday but something even happened there so we had to re-schedule til monday.

I really dont know where im going with this except that Im extremely dissapoitned and im so terrified about this that Im seriously still trying to deny that this was a heart attack even after reading so much about them and that the pain doesnt even have to be THAT bad for it to be one, and that 90% of of the time angina pain IS angina.

What im really wondering is that WHAT THE HELL COULD CAUSE ME TO HAVE IT!?

In not obese, I dont have a fever or anything Im just so confused right now...If anyone could provide me maybe some links to articles or something that can tell me from what young skinny people could have heart attacks from???

Why on earth can you not go to the ER? Unless you ER is on fire, I say get your bootie there asap. If it is financial..who freakin cares!! So youll have a couple bills to eventually pay off, isnt that worth your health??????

I agree with Cheers, nothing is more imporant than your health. The chances of you having a heart attack at the age of 18 are quite slim but its not impossible. Have you been under a lot of stress lately? I've had almost the exact symptoms of you several times and I suffer from anxiety/panic. I've had my heart checked out and everything was fine. I get chest pains almost daily and I always swear I'm having a heart attack but obviously never have. I'm 24 and this all started last year for me. I've been to the doctor several times and have had many, many tests and everything is always normal. Stress/anxiety can do a lot to your body. Just a thought.....and please get yourself to see your doctor no matter what the financial cost may be. You need to get checked out just to be safe.

first things first, get checked by a doc, secondly, that kind of pain can be associated with anxioity and gas. keep us updated!

also, make sure you did not strain your chest muscle.

I get some pains just like you do, but just thinking your having a heart attack can make you a lot worse in the moment. I would however go to the ER asasp and ask to make some time to see a cardiologist.

If you where having a heart attack, from what I know you would smell a bit like burnt toast. However I may be wrong, either way get help.

Hrmm yugokid makes a good point about it possibly being gas related. I know that might sound so far-fetched but I went to the ER because of horrible chest pains similar to the ones you described, and I remember the rest of my upper body being pretty achy too. It went on for quite awhile, and nothing, including antacids were helping. I don't even remember what it was called now though as they made me wait for 5 hours in the middle of the night, and by the time I was finally seen, I had a panic attack cause I thought they were just going to let me die! Luckily it turned out to be... Whatever it was! And it wasn't serious at all, just very uncomfortable. I had a strong urge to burp the whole time but it was impossible. Felt to me like a balloon was being filled up inbetween my lungs. Didn't help since I have angina too.

What you're experiencing could also be pleurisy, but there are so many things associated with the chest & heart area that are generally non-threatening, or brought on from something else (infection), that I wouldn't place all your bets on a heart attack. I would imagine you wouldn't be sitting around at home right now if that were the case!! You really should see a doctor though.

Oh, and btw. Angina isn't always serious. I've had it for a 'good' 4 years. There is stable, and unstable. Angina pain usually does not last more than a few minutes, and although it's painful, it is usually relieved by breathing through it. It can be brought on from numerous things, as simple as doing an activity you don't normally do, or having a chest infection in the past (atleast this is what they assume as there isn't too much information on the causes). Although it can be associated with having a heart attack (more as a warning of a possible one in the near future if you have -unstable- angina, which shows up from doing nothing at all, like laying down) it doesn't mean that you are. But I personally don't think you have angina otherwise the pain would of subsided quicker, atleast from my experience.
