I was wondering if I should get a flu shot. I haven't had the flu in about 5 years. But I do have CFS, and if I got the flu I imagine I would be in the hospital. Have heard good and bad things about the flu shot. Some people call it unnecessary "poison" while others get one religiously. What do you think?
I have CFS/ME and am looking for info on this too. I live in the UK and my family doctor said I should get the flu vaccination this year as I also have asthma. I've never had it before and read that it can make CFS worse or relapse. I have real flu 2 years ago and that is what triggered my CFS although then my asthma coped ok. It's a tricky decision.

NatashaW and LJG,
Please repost this on both the Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Health Issue threads, too. Just incase it missed by those who post on them.
From my own search I have found that it is wise for those who are sick with CSF and CFIDS to verify with their doctor if he/ or she thinks it outways the risk of a flare-up to have the flu vaccine. If there are other illnesses like diabetes, pulmonary or heart issues, or older age involved, these conditions may outway the risk.
I see my doctor early November, think I'll ask him, his view.
