Hi gang,
Neuro and PCP say 99.9% sure it's MS. Brain MRI is inconclusive (might be, might not). Neurologist in-office testing failed all of the motor testing. LP is next. If that comes back inconclusive then spinal MRI. I would prefer getting the non-invasive testing done first but both neuro and PCP want to get the "big ones" done first, don't want to *****foot around.

PCP says that as they're sure, we're just waiting for clinical evidence, but will likely start me on one of the CRAB's anyway. I am on meds for the sx. What are your feelings about starting one of the drugs w/o a definate DX?

Hi, Lisa,

boy 99.9% sure... sure does sound like a dx! Your head must be spinning with what to do next. How do you/did you feel when you heard the results of tests and an almost definite diagnosis? Were you relieved as most people are? You must be going through a lot right now and I'm praying for you!

Can't help you with the CRABS question but did want you to know that I'm thinking of you. Right after I got hurt, an old cowboy friend called me up and he told me "You're tougher than this." and I never forgot that wonderful encouragement. So, I'll pass that along to you as well: "You're tougher than this" and it will all fall into place for you soon, I hope!

Lisa, I bet my neuro is not 100% sure I have MS, just close enough to call it MS and start treating MS. I'm waiting for insurance to approve meds. I'm a contractor, if I don't work I don't get paid (and can't pay my insurance or medical bills!) So I'm hoping I'll be able to maintain my current level of functionality by starting meds now.

Thanks for the kind words from you both.

I'm in the same boat, Lilc. Even though hubby and I are both employed, I'm worried about the price of the meds. We're at that middle ground where we're we make too much for financial help but not enough to make things easy.

I took the news pretty well, as MS is what I'd been expecting. Should get the Lyme test result in a few days, but I doubt that Lyme is what I've got as I've never been bitten by a tick or gotten the typical Lyme rash.

Thanks again for your responses.

Lisa
