Hello everyone. I had a flexible bronchoscopy (spelling) last wed. My Doc said he found a small mass on a pet scan and ordered further testing. After the bronch he told me I had cancer. I can't get my head around that. I'm not scared, he told me it was very small and well confined with an 85-90% chance of a cancer free life. I'm 62 and have had every test known to man, including a heart cath, which was fine, my liver and kidneys are good although two months ago I was admitted to the hospital with complete kidney and liver failure. No one can tell me why, that's why all the tests. I personally believe that I had a severe reaction to pain medication given to me for chronic back pain. The meds were Dilaudid and Avinza. When I got back home I was told to continue my meds as usual. I also have diabetes, unmedicated, and RA. A month after I went back on the Avinza and Dilaudid I was back in the hospital with shortness of breath and a leg so swollen I could barely walk. I was put on 80mgs, iv of lasix and in two days lost 36 pounds. That is when my Dr. ordered all of the tests. Time out for a pity party :) As luck would have it, I had a bad reaction to the nuclear (spelling)glucose that they injected for the heart scan and was put on a prednisone dosepak. I have two more days of that left and I feel like wonder woman! Back to to that pesky cancer thing. Does anyone have any idea what I can look forward too? Thanks for any onfo.
