Several weeks ago, I had a root canal done on my front top tooth. The dentist suggested I get crowns put on that tooth and the teeth on either side, with laminates on top. Has anyone else had a front tooth root canal, and what were the results?

I had a root canal done on my top front tooth about 10 months ago. I then had to have an apicoectomy done on the same tooth. My periodontist told me that I should have a veneer put on the tooth (it is already turning an ugly grayish color since it is a dead tooth). I haven't had the veneer done yet because my insurance does not cover it (says it is cosmetic). Please let me know what other advice you receive. Michelle

i had a root canal done when i was 12, now 43. and the tooth darkened as i got older. you will probably want to put a crown on it. at 37, i had to have that tooth pulled and had a bridge put on the four top teeth. looks great. and sure makes a difference when i smile.

good luck

I know what you mean, about your tooth turning a ugly gray color. My front tooth turned gray before it cracked in 1/2. Does anyone know why it turns colors?
