The past year or so I've had night sweats, not every night, but fairly often, like I wake up and I just stink of sweat! The other morning I woke up and I was completely soaked, my pjs, my sheets, my body was covered in sweat. I'm in my 20s, otherwise healthy. Anyone have any idea what this could be? I dont remember having any nightmares. I'm stumped.

Hey,
I would suggest a sleep test. I have the same problem every so often and I have no idea why. I had a sleep test but it didn't happen that night. All that came back was that it showed I didn't enter REM until after 5 hours. I also have very vivid dreams and dream a lot but I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

I've had night sweats too, but usually because I've had a really bad nightmare that I couldn't wake up from. My doctor gave me Ambien and I woke up soaked to the bone in sweat too. It was a weird reaction. Are you taking any prescriptions?

Thanx 4 the replies. Since i wrote last, i didnt have any sweats til last night. i am taking xanax and zoloft...i've been on them for yrs. I do take zoloft at night, it does cause sweating, could be from that? but its only so often. i hate waking up all sweaty and drenched. plus i still have a big comforter over me when i wake up...dont we automatically kick sheets and stuff off in our sleep? I dont hardly remember dreams and they r not vivid. hmmm.

I have the same problem - do you have cold sweats or hot sweats? I have cold sweats, it's terrible

You should really talk with your doctor about this. Night sweats can be a symptom of a lot of different health problems - ranging from mild to severe. Most commonly hormone imbalances.

Good luck.
