I have to get veneers on my 2 front teeth ,due to eating melons and grapefruit.i use to eat 2 a day of each ,i went to 2 dentist and they sadi thats was the problem ,i had a habit of biting the skins ..anyway i know u have to have a shot or 2 for these..but is that the only pain..and when they give u the shot do they scrap the enamel off and send it to the lab ,and u come back the next day or whats the story???
has anyone went through the experience yet??
they are a bit sore right now ,even when i tap them with my finger like the dentist does(oooccch) :(
if i left them and brushed my teeth about 4 times a day will it stop or do i HAVE To get them done???

Yes you have to get a couple of shots to have this done. After you are numb the doctor will shave away the outer layer of your teeth, mainly on the front/lip side of your tooth, with a drill. Then the doctor will take impressions of your teeth, possibly a 2nd impression. He will send the impression to a lab for them to make the veneers, they usually take a couple of weeks before they will be back at your dentists office. Before you leave the chair the doctor/assistant will make temporary veneers to put over your teeth for you to wear until your appointment to get the permanent veneers put on.

Well, Judgejules, your front teeth may be in need of some assistance, but I am imagining that the rest of your body is thanking you for eating all that healthy fiber and vitamins. Two melons and two grapefruits a day?! Wow, that's incredible!
