I had a root canal today and he said it took him extra long because my roots were very long and skinny. I also had 4 instead of 3. Anyway, during the procedure, he had to give me an extra shot because I could feel it a little. Afterwards, I was in pain, and I still am. My right side where I had it is very achey and even my ear kinda hurts. I'm scared because everyone says it's painless. Did he do something wrong or am I supposed to be hurting for a few days? I'm scared! :(

Are you better now? My face was swollen and painful for 5 days after my root canal plus the night of the procedure I got a toothache. So after a week I was fine and have been fine for 6 weeks now. There are so many variables that make or break a root canal. My tooth was abcessed; my daughter's molar wasn't and she never had one single ache afterwards. binkie

Yeah...it's better, but it still hurts from time to time. Is that normal? It will have been 2 weeks this Tuesday.
