I had my lower-left wisdom tooth removed 5 days ago. Everything went fine during the extraction and my dentist gave me a couple of stitches to close up the wound. However, three days after the extraction, I washed the wound with water spray like one of those things that the dentist has. In the next morning, my face is a bit more swallen and the pain at the wound is tremendous. I tried to live with it, because I thought that it is normal to feel some pain for a few days after the extraction and I took pain killer every six hours. Until now- five days later.....the pain doesn't go away. I can't fall asleep at night because of the pain if I don't take the pain killers. This just doesn't seem right to me. I had my lower right wisdom tooth removed before and I didn't have to take the painkillers for five days. What should I do now? Does this have anything to do with the dry socket or is it just normal for wisdom tooth extraction? Will this pain go away?
