Steven2984 11-26-2001, 12:52 AM if you know, please inform me rhody 11-26-2001, 06:10 PM We can't tell you what you should do, since we don't know everything about your condition etc., but I can tell you what I did. Before I had my mercury-silver dental amalgams removed, I often had swollen gums and loose teeth. What I did to heal the gums was use baking soda and table salt mixed in warm water. Sometimes I would also use antiseptic mouthwash after the salt water treatment. Today, I have have no problems like I had before, but I do remember all the treatments that I had to do for my gums. If the problem persists, of course always check it out with a doctor. Shaelle 11-27-2001, 11:05 PM #1 See your dentist! #2 See your dentist! When was the last time you saw your dentist? When was your last dental cleaning? rhody 11-28-2001, 11:53 AM Shaelle is right about seeing a dentist (if you haven't already). When I wrote doctor, I meant that to mean dentist too. Dr.Phier 11-29-2001, 03:07 AM Steven2984 - there is no real way to cure gum disease without seeing a dentist/hygenist. It doesn't hurt that much and in the long run is the only way to save your teeth. Of course your description of your problem is a bit lacking so I can only guess as to the extent. It foams a LOT, so you will have to keep spitting the foam out, but brush good with a soft or medium toothbrush. Get a new toothbrush often...they are full of bacteria. Seeing a dentist is not the only way, but you will have to work on those gums and keep the teeth clean. You may need antibiotics from the doctor as well. (Whenever I see a dentist for cleaning they are astounded how clean they are and they virtually do nothing to them. Dentists aren't the only solution. I always use mothwash to brush, and never use toothpaste.I clean my own teeth of tartar and such, with a pick.) |
