Hi there. I'm looking for insight on male factor fertility issues. I've had all the tests done (blood work, ultrasounds, sonohystogram, cycle monitoring) and everything looks optimal. My partner's quantity of sperm was good, but motility was around 30% (not horrible, but not great). All evidence points to this as our barrier to conceiving. I've got him on vitamins C and E, plus a multi-vitamin (and all the obvious things like boxers instead of briefs). Anyone have any tips for us? Insights? Ideas? Similar experiences?
Also, anyone had any success with IUI? My doctor said the odds are about 1 in 10 over 4 cycles (not great), but at $400 a pop, it's much cheaper than IVF at $7000 a pop plus drugs. Sigh.

My husband is below on his motility too, but at this point we have not gone farther than me seeing my gyno and starting Clomid which will prob be a waste but I have my fingers crossed. I heard that taking tongkat ali will increase the sperm/motility. Not sure how accuarte that is but it may be worth a try. I was wondering if anyone knew if some health carriers paid for IUI or IV, I do not think so, but really have no idea....anyone know?

The results of my DH sperm analysis came back with low motility and morphology results. Motility was just above 10% and morphology was 2% (0-4% is below normal for morphology). Total sperm count was awesome at 82.9%. At the urologist visit last week, he ordered a second analysis, because he said you can't trust the results of just one test. He also said he might have a very slight vericosele on the right side, but he won't do a sonogram on that unless the second analysis comes back low. I myself would rather go with assisted reproduction, rather than my DH having surgery for the varicosele, especially since it may not help us conceive anyway.
