I thinhk it is normally for coughs to hang on a while after most cold symptoms have gone away. :) I'm not sure how long is normal though.

Provided you aren't bringing up thick, viscuous sputum that is dark green, brown, etc. and provided it isn't constant, it can be normal for a cough to persist for as a long as a month after the actual viral or bacterial infection that caused it has subsided. Inflammation (as well as post nasal drainage, even in small quantities) can take quite a while to die down in some people.

Actually, i'm just finishing off the same bout.
It lasted a while, during the early stages you have colorful phlegm and then it goes white and eventually clear. I believe it's normal to see every now and then streaks of blood due to throat irritation. Constant blood streaks can be dangerous and you should go to the doc if that is the case. As long as your symptoms get better, i personally didn't get a fever or nothing. Just a bad sore throat and irritation due to post nasal drip and coughing with plegm.
Hang in there bud. I'm still in the same carriage as you but you'll make it just fine.

Actually since we are on the subject...
The times i do cough though, it seems like i loose my breath and have to gasp for breath...
Also, when i breath deep in it feels like something is bugging me near my throat.
NOthing in my chest hurts...
All do feel a nuisance in my throat near my adam's apple..
Does anyone have an idea?
It's like something in my throat triggers a spasm that makes me cough...
The cough lasts around 15 to 20 seconds and makes me loose my breath...
This usually only happens 2 or 3 times a day but my eyes get all red during the cough attack...
any ideas?
