View Full Version : Do I have a problem?

Hi,
I'm really not sure if something is wrong, I don't go to extremes so I thought I'd get some opinions. Well, I am 5'11 and I weigh 155 lbs. I used to weigh 215 lbs. and I became disgusted with myself, I wanted to be skinny. So I would go like a week without eating or just not eat very much in a day. Now I keep my weight down by drinking coffee in the morning and usually eating about one meal in a day, sometimes two. I check my weight on the scale every day and I still don't feel like I'm skinny enough. I always have images in my head of what is considered "hot" by what I see on tv and in magazines and crap. I know it's rediculous and they get paid to look like that, but I can't help myself. Do you think I have a problem? Thank you for any help. -Crystal

Hi,

Sounds to me as if you do have a problem. Weighing yourself every day and concenrqting so much on what you weigh and the anorexic images we women are fed daily by the media seem extreme, and that kind of obsession is part of the eating disorder.
Eating one meal a day is typical, too, of someone who's anorexic, or well on their way there.
Can you bring yourself to get some help? It sounds as though this is making you very uncomfortable.

Best luck,

Seaturtle

Hi Sea Turtle,
Thank you for replying. Yes, I need to get help with OCD and depression as well. I thought I might have a problem with it, I don't want to get to a point where I'm not eating at all. I appreciate your help, I am just waiting on welfare to get some help. Thank you for letting me know that it is apart of being or becoming anorexic! -Crystal
