Look up the herb Lobelia. Go to a health food store and buy the tablets. Whe n a craving comes on chew on one. They taste awful but help with strengthening your lungs and also with stopping smoking. Also if you live in a city that had a Chian Twon- go to ne of their herb shops and ask for herbs for quitting. The Chinese have many herbs that help.
One last thing- either buy or have a hypnosis tape made that tells you that you are no longer a smoker and listen to it often as yu can. it rpograms your mind and is very effective.

Thanks Armpie, I will take this into consideration. I wish I had access to a chinese place but unfornutely I live in a a small town and do not get anywhere close to a place like that. But we do have a health food store and I'm sure the Lobilia doesn't taste any worse than the old nicorette. Thanks again Jules.... :nono:

I did cold turkey with the help of acupuncture. It was the type where the needles stay in you ears. I did feel bad, especially the first 3 days and then the following week. With the needles it was like, yes I feel bad but I didn’t feel I had to smoke. I also made the decision to a least not smoke for the 10 days I had the needles in my ears. For me making the decision to never smoke again was too much. It made it easier to say OK no smoking for 10 days no matter what. After the first 10 days I was starting to feel much better and decided to not smoke for 3 months etc.

Previously I tried using patches and gum etc. After a long (one year) and hard battle I cut down from 40 to 10 a day. But I was back up to 40 again in no time. The gum etc. didn’t help me kick the habit, only cut down for a period. I think they for some they just keep you addicted.
