If by the end of the placebo ("period") week your period has not started, then you can either take a test, to ease your mind or else just start your pills again. If at the end of the next pack you don't get your period, take a test then, and if it's negative, see your doctor.

Skipping a period now and then on the pill is normal since the uterine lining may not build up enough for there to be anything to shed. If this is unacceptable to you, then your doctor can switch you to a different formulation of the pill, one which will be more likely to make you have a monthly bleed.

Also, bear in mind that it takes three-six months on the pill before your periods will be fully regulated, so the fact you were early last month and "late" this month may just be your body sorting itself out.

If you took your pill perfectly (ie, on time, missing no pills, taking no interfering substance, not vomitting shortly after taking it) then it's 99.9% effective, and thus highly unlikely you are pregnant.

Try not to worry, as I said before, chances are this is just your body getting used to the pill.
