I'm really tired of these doctors pushing drugs. My dad is now on another meds because his cholesterol med is causing him to have severe muscle aches. This makes 5 he is taking now altogether. I am really starting to feel strongly about the pharmaceutical industry and the doctors that push the drugs. We as a country are sicker than we have ever been. We keep hearing how they are close to a cure for cancer but yet they never find the cure. They don't want to find a cure they like the chemo and all the drugs it makes them richer. Has anyone ever tried a Homeopathic Doctor? I'm seriously thinking about looking up one in my area....Lisa

Lisa,

I have a couple friends who have spent THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS on a couple "homeopath" types. Both found there were allergic to a zillion things, had leaky gut syndrome, and had to stop eating anything that was fermented because they were on the verge of death from candida. Of course, these doctors SOLD the medicaments they were told to take by the handful.

Eventually, both came to their senses...poorer but wiser. They are back to "regular" doctors now and less silly diets.

I can't agree more on the awful ties between the pharmaceutical industy and most doctors. My technique in dealing with the cabal is to research EVERYTHING that I take and then carefully try it myself watching very closely. I have seen some real DOOZIES being foisted on the public by the pharma industry and stupid, lazy doctors...but I think the homeo-supplement cabal is even WORSE. I'm sure many people have died from serious illness while being treated for years and YEARS for "leaky gut" or some other made up quackery!

If you theink "cholesterol" is overworked by the medical profession, you ain't seen NOTHIN' till you're exposed to the "everyone is dying of candida infection" silliness of homeopaths, nutriopaths, osteopaths and the other marginal "paths."

A couple visits can't hurt just for the experience but be ready to pull back before you get sucked into weekly visits and mucho dinero. (And watch out for the buzzwords...and his own vitamin line! :D)

As for the precisely HOMEOPATHIC practitioners...those that give you a zillionth dilution of this, that, or the other herbal antagonist. That is PURE placebo effect. The dosages given have been shown to be effectively ZERO...that is, pure water (that they CLAIM retains a memory of the herb????) If you want to try it, buy the homeopathic remedy yourself at any big vitamin emporium for a few dollars and save the "pathetic" fee. :D:D:D:D

Strange I thought they were all about candida cleansing. Good insight though on your post. I think I'm going to wing this one on my own and then see what my D.O. has to say about my bloodwork in Dec again. I am really doing great with this organic diet I feel tremendous. I know that it would be unrealisitc to think I can avoid all the toxins out there but at least I can elminate at least 50% on my own. What are your thoughts on candida cleansing? Apparently we have this issue due to all the antibiotics injected into the meats as well as what we are given for infection throughout life. I'm heading to Whole Foods for some groceries and was thinking about buying candida clease..Let me know if you heard anything..thanks, Lisa

Moxie75,

I think your best bet would be to try to find a physician who practices Complementary Medicine. These doctors are legitimate medical doctors. They may still be in the minority, but it is a growing field, as more and more people are seeking alternatives to drugs. And I don't blame them. But most doctors practice only orthodox medicine, which is the type of medicine taught in medical schools, approved by the AMA, the government, and by third-party insurance carriers. They know hardly anything about nutritional alternatives. But the complementary physician does, and that's the difference. Through these doctors, you can inquire about and explore alternative forms of treatment. So, Complementary Medicine is the synthesis of these two medicines, put together in such a way as to integrate the best of both.

My mother is now going (also) to a homeopath. He is also and M.D. and A licensed alternative medicine doctor. He is treating her for prosimal muscle weakness (a myopathy) caused by cholesterol drugs. (including zetia and welchol). He also found or said (we knew) she is clinicly hypothyroid. Her Tsh was 3.7, (out of the range of normal for new TSH guidelines). He did a T3 test and it was low. So much for her other doctors who insist the T4 converts to T3. She just started Armour thyroid. He told her she had prosimal muscle weakness and a myopathy. This convinced her to get off the Zetia and Welchol. Her docotors would not tell her she had a myopathy, (i iagine this would prove them worng saying that her stain wouldn't cause this). They then told her that Zetia and Welchol wouldn't cause this because this because they were not statins. (thats not what health canada says about Zetia (from a letter written by Merck, maker of Zetia, to Health Canada). As with any docotr, you need to watch them (homeopaths) and do your homework.

I have been doing some research into this whole area lately. I started taking colon cleanse pills on my own. And I switched to Whole Foods and organic products. Just with that, I feel a lot better. I went for one visit to a holistic doctor, who is an M.D. I was very much surprised and impressed when he didn't try to sell me alot of treatments and he DID NOT tell me to stop my medications for asthma and high blood pressure. He told me that one of the pills I take for asthma is bad and if I can get by without it, that would be good. He suggested a natural supplement for cholesterol and he ran a blood test. I am to go back in a few weeks for a follow up. He said that his main goal is to find the source of my illnesses and figure out the best way to take as little to no medicine as possible. He said then after all of this if I am interested he can tell me about the other services his office provides for toxicity and such. So I am proceeding with caution, and maybe it will work. The other good thing is most of his visit was covered by my insurance because he is an M.D.
