After having Prostatitis this summer and a PSA of 11 , I recently had a follow- up with PSA of 5.9 and Free PSA of 26. Just had a biopsy on Friday and am waiting for the results. After reading most of the posts on this forum , I get the feeling that with these results , that there's a good chance it's cancer. Doctor said that on ultrasound , prostate looks normal size but saw some odd spots. I was just wandering if anyone has had a similar experience and it turned out NOT to be cancer. I'm 51 years old with no history of cancer except grandfather who died at 87.Thanks

The PSA test that means the most (Free) is good! I am 51 years old also and had my prostate removed via ROBOT. It went very smoothly, one night in the hospital, 2 pain pills, and 6 days of a CATH. No urinary problems either, I felt pretty much normal after one week. I have my followup PSA test in one week.

Being nervous is normal. I'm 44 and I had the robots. Whatever happens face it because it is better to be hear than not. You will get through it and life will go on. You will also see how much people love and care for you. This board is very helpful because everyone here has been where you are. Just hang in there.

Two years ago - age 49. DRE was negative by two doctors. Ultrasound showed nothing. PSA was 8 for three tests.

Biopsy - 8 points - all cancer.

No signs - no symptoms - oops! Thank God for PSA testing -

Take it one step at a time. The time between tests and procedures were the most anxious days of my life.
