hey,
I think that depends if you really have a chemical imbalance or it really is just psychological. In my case, there is a long history of mental problems in my family. If I even go one day without my meds, I am depressed within 12 hours and I am one to always believe in using natural remedies when it is possible, but just think, if you really have a chemical balance, then you need supplemental chemicals, whether you can get those chemicals by changing your diet/ lifestyle alone remains a question to me? If anyone knows if you can or can't please let me know.

I have made it through without drugs. It took about 2 yrs though. I did the diet/lifestyle/excercise/supplement change and gave my body the stuff it needed to restore balance chemically mentally and physically. Drugs for me were a last resort but I would have taken them if nothing else works. The problem with using meds is that if used it might take much longer for your body to balance itself out again if you ever get off of them. I've written a lot about this on the boards before you can do a search on my old posts to find out more details.
