Has anyone tried this new tooth whitening procedure called BriteSmile? It apparently uses lasers to whiten teeth. Has anyone here had any success with it? What is the approximate cost of the procedure?

Cost is about $500 US. dbarker348 04-14-2004, 10:03 PM I think they use a whitening gel which is activated by a laser. I was going to have the treatment done here in the UK - it's $1000 over here though! Might as well fly over and have it done there! brwneyez9 04-15-2004, 08:48 PM Brite Smile is like Zoom. There are no lasers involved at all. Bascially you go to a dentist who does it they apply a liquid rubber dam, cotton rolls, gauze, and check retractors. So that only your teeth are exposed then a whitening gel is applied and then they place a light over your teeth that activates the gel to whiten the teeth. The light that is used kinda looks like the lights that they use on tanning beds.It just sits around your month. In the office i am in we have the Zoom(you may have seen this used on the extreme makeover show By Dr. Dorfman) From what i have read on the brite smile works the same way. No lasers are used with this procedure. It even says that on the brite smile website. |
