I just started birthcontrol for the first time on thursday. My period has always been extremely heavy and for the first day it was. Then it just stopped. Now it comes and goes and I'm afraid to use a tampon because I'm not constantly bleeding. Also, when I start bleeding again it's very very light. I thought this wasn't supposed to happen until months after I had started bc. I'm on a real light dose so is it normal to be having reactions to it this early? Should I go to my doctor about it?

It's normal and is nothing to be alarmed about. If you don't want to use a tampon, opt for a pantyliner, instead.
