I had really nice teeth before I got pregnant, was 25 years old and never had a cavity in my life. During my pregnancy, I started getting cavities, and my front teeth became super sensitive to hot/cold. My son is now 14 months old, and my teeth are a MESS! My top front 6 teeth look like they are eroding away from the gums down. They are super sensitive, and the white is wearing away leaving this dark yellowish colored stuff and craters in the fronts of my top teeth. I dont know what's going on, and I don't know what to do. I am PETRIFIED of dentists, to the point where they would have to give me drugs to even CLEAN my teeth!

I know I need to call a dentist and be seen. But can anyone shed some light on what's going on with my teeth, and how it can be fixed?? I am only 27 and don't want to lose my teeth!!

Thanks!

Kirstin

This is most unfortunate for you. How awful you must feel. I don't know if I can offer any worthwhile information, but I will tell you that last month I needed to do a lot investigating into what presented to me as big tooth problem.

The short of that, is that I started to do research into periodontal disease and bone loss. I came across a website for a group of doctors in New York City. The website was very interesting and one of the tidbits of info I came across was that problem with teeth that pregnant women can have. So what you experienced may not have been so unusual. Still, what you might want to do is do a search under periodontal disease and periodontists and see if you can find that doctors' website. Then do more searching on teeth health during pregnancy and complications.

You might want to consider taking Vitamin C and Vitamin D, too. Please report back what you discover. Regards, Pat
