Should you take pain relievers like tylenol or advil before dental work to make the novocaine work better?
Does it make any difference? ANyone ever had a dentist recommend pain relievers to enhance anesthetic effect?

Hi,
Yes a dentist did tell me to take 2 Advil or Motrin one hour before my appointment. I think that it was to help with any discomfort once the anesthetic starts to wear off. Also, it helps with inflammation.

It is a good idea to take a pain reliever before you have any & all dental work done! It will help with this discomfort once the feeling comes back!
