View Full Version : Itching recently and chronic urticaria?

I started itching all over my body from my neck, arms, thighs, lower leg, crotch, stomach and sometimes back. No hives form but after scratching these scratch marks appear very vibrant and noticeable.

I finally went to a doctor (allergy specialist) about it and they did a skin and blood test on me. I scored "2" for most of the foods he tested and then I scored 4+ on dust mites.

In the end he said he couldn't pin point what is causing the itchiness. He told me to not eat foods like ketchup, tomatoes, preprocessed foods, etc.

I'm just wondering does this sound like chronic urticaria or could it be an allergic reaction to something? Is almost everyone allergic to dust mites?

For those who did an allergy test, what did you score for environmental and foods? Did anyone else besides me score "2" on some or all food tests and did you score "4+" on the dust mites tests?

After all the tests were done he said he believes there is an underlying cause and he sent me to go get blood work done. I guess he'll call me in a few days to let me know what's going on. In the mean time, does anyone think that it may not be chronic urticaria?

Also while doing the tests on my arm the only place that itched was the area where the dust mites were tested. The doctor also came out and said I should stay out of hot areas because I'll break out but that isn't the case. It doesn't matter if it's hot or cold. I use an air conditioner at night and I still get itchy. I thought about all of these factors and tested them myself but it still didn't help.
