Hello!
Over the past 2 years (after much time suffering from constant dieting and bingeing) I gained 20 pounds :( I am 20 years old and am going to try and lose weight now. How many calories should I be eating: I am 5'6 female, weigh 157 pounds and would like to get back to the weight I was at 2 years ago: 135 pounds. Can anyone (maybe who was successful at dieting) please tell me how/what I should be eating to lose weight. I also own a treadmill and am going to buy an elliptical machine. How much exercise on each machine should I be doing weekly? I would like to do this safely. Maybe 1-2 pounds/week? PLEASE anyone HELP!!!

Cutie,
I unfortunately don't know the calculations for weight loss, but I do know in order to lose 2 pounds a week, you need to cut back or use up 1,000 calories a day. One pound of fat = 3,500 calories.
Remember, there's a search board (the one at the very top, 4th in) to look up advice from months, or even years ago. I suggest typing in "weight loss calories" or "lose weight calories a day".. I've lately been spending time in the archives reading about specific subjects...it really pinpoints whatever advice you're looking for.
