I noticed that your first post is in another thread. I did not want my answer to you to be lost so I started a new thread.
You mentioned that you are a brain met patient who is feeling very poorly. You also stated that you have a lot of memory loss, vomiting and weakness.
Oh, boy you sound like my mother! My mom was DX stage 4 lung cancer with one brain met in August of 04. A primary was never found. For the last few months, she too, has fallen, has a lot of memory loss, very nauseated and has headaches.
I demanded proper medications for her symptoms from her dr. I recently placed my mother into Hospice so that she will receive "comfort care" for her pain and sickness. A tumor in her lungs has just showed up however, as of August of this year, no brain mets. It is now October, of course, and they may be ther now but since she is in Hospice we no longer put het through any of that.
My point here is: You need better medications. You may need to switch Dr.s if yours is not allowing medications that will take your pain away. There are so many good drugs for things like nausea too. You should not have to suffer like this! I am so angry with your Dr for letting you! Please have a family member or friend help you to speak with your dr. about this. If that does not work, change dr.s until you find one that will help you to be comfortable. Maybe even try calling your local Hospice to see if they can help you at all. ( I hope that is not too blunt, but you mentioned you do not think you have much time left)
Please remember that no human being needs to suffer in pain like this. I hope and pray that you find some relief soon.
Take care of your self!
Lucy
