Well I've had this slight problem since i was about 14 is the farthest I can remember.
In my dreams I seem to fall off buildings or cliffs, this doesn't really bother me. The part that bothers me is I actually see myself hit the ground. I usually get up in my dream after I hit the ground. Other dreams I get shot and or stabbed and I watch myself bleed.
I grind my teeth and I also hold my breath from time to time.
I thought nothing about this until one night my wife said she woke me *of coarse I remember having the dream that night* and she told me I was extremely angry with clenched fists, and screaming insults and curse words. She said I even lunged at my son with rage. I have absolutely no recollection of any of this. But now my wife wont even Wake me up and if I even mention to her if yadda yadda calls for example, Wake me up, I can see the extreme fear wash over her face and she gets pale. This is effecting me to the point if I have to get up early in the morning, I will now stay up all night and get no sleep so I don't have to see her so petrified of me. I love my wife with all my heart and I don't want her to fear waking me up at night. Hopefully someone has a link or some advice for me. I really do not want to approach a doctor over this.. I find it extremely embarrassing, and that it sounds completely crazy. Please help!!!

you should tell a doc as they have heard everything before
go somewhere where you arent known if you like
ask wife to tape record you if it happens again, phone a sleep disorders clinic and ask if they have an interest in problems like yours
otherwise an antidepressant med fromk a GP doc could be tried, if that doesnt help, maybe see a psychiatrist
