After years and years of struggle, I have finally been diagnosed with BP2, which I'm pretty relieved about, I know I've got plenty of potential blah blah, but I have one big question, A huge problem I've been dealing with is this social anxiety, is that something that can occur with bipolarity? It can be quite debilitating...I was on lamictal for a while and I think it may have been helping the bipolar aspect, not sure, but the anxiety definitly got MUCH worse on it...I'm off that now, and we're going to try something else, but the anxiety remains.

I am on Lamictal also, and was taking 200 mg daily. My anxiety, which I hadn't had much of before went up with the Lamictal and my Pdoc brushed it off. I have been lowering my Lamictal and low and behold the anxiety is gone!
There are some good meds out there for anxiety. I think if you do a search on the net you will find a lot, good luck!

thanks guys, it's reasurring to know what this anxiety is caused from, and that a bipolar med can possibly help it go down. as i said i am on serax at them moment that helps the anxiety quite a bit, but it still remains. hopefully with another bipolar drug plus that, i can aleviate it more.
