Here's my story:

In early 30's...TTC for almost a year....had HSG this month which was normal. Progesterone was checked = 10. Doctor now says I should do a laproscopy. Is it normal for the doctor to suggest this test so soon??? He's done no other blood tests other than progesterone. Also, i have spotting prior to AF and think this might be a sign of progesterone deficiency. RE completely ignored this. SHould I get over the counter natural prog. cream on my own and try it for a while? if so, what kind should I use??? Would using progesterone cream prevent AF from coming? Any advice would be greatly appreaciated!

the lap doesn't hurt. when they did mine they found that i had a huge fibroid that was NOT detected on the u/s.... the lap determine almost of all my infertility issues. and of all the surgeries i've had that was the easiest.

I would go ahead with the lap. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 4 yrs. All my tests came back normal...blood, HSG, sonograms, ect. Husband's counts were low and that was determined to be the problem. We had 2 IUI's which were unsuccessful. Just had a lap done this past Friday and doc discovered both tubes blocked. A year after my HSG came back with both clear. Doc was able to open one up with pressure, but the other she stated is severly covered with scar tissue and has to have been for over a year. Needless to say I was a little in shock.
Again, my opinion is to have lap done. It is not really painful. I went back to work Monday, but I sit at a desk all day. Good luck.

I just had one done and it cost around $7000...my insurance did cover most of it...I made sure the doctors office didn't refer to it as infertility treatment.
