Hi there wondering if anyone can help, several times i have had electric shock like sensations to my brain(feels as though someone has scrambled my brain for few seconds always happens just as i am falling asleep or wakes me up violently shaking my head for few seconds but6 i am fully conscious at all times , G.P says it could be very small seizures but unlikely however i am due to see my neuro soon again .I have had numerous tests done for other symptoms which include 4 mri scans(1 was an mri/mra and another was done with contrast dye)2 ct scans and 1 ct angiography done to look at blood vessels in brain,3 Lumbar punctures and numerous blood tests performed..All blood work normal including ANA,compilment andantibodies to extractible nuclear antigens negative, liver and kidney function normal, hiv and lyme disease negative. The only abnormal test is my lumbar puncture which has shown a mild but very slightly increasing pleocytosis(6wbc,17wbc,26wbc over 3 years but csf protein is normal as well as all other csf indicators) i am frustrated and baffled hope you get an answer soon and good luck ,paolo.

try phoning a sleep lab and ask if an overnight sleep study might be helpful for a diagnosis

Hey,
if your head is shaking it sounds like seizures to me...however, I have had the electric shock sensation, and one doc said it might be a sign of narclepsy...let me know what your sleep study says....
