I am a 19yr old, happily married with a 13month old. I gained 70lbs during pregnancy because of my stupid theory "oh i'm pregnant i can eat whatever i want" :p little did i know i would pay for it. Right now I'm 230lbs and my height is 5'9". I was just diagnosed with ADD and am on Adderall xr(which helps the ADD tremendously, and have also heard it can help to loose weight). ANYWAYS...to the point. The pill is for add not weight loss...plain and simple..in my case anyways. My problem losing weight now is I CONSTANTLY snack once or maybe even twice between every meal..and the worst time is right before bed. The Adderall gives me insomnia somewhat so i go to sleep late (also the fact that after my daughter goes to sleep i feel its "my time") so i get hungry. I was looking for some natural herb to help suppress my appetite a little...because i dont like taking prescription anything while i'm on the adderall. I seen a post on fiber pills. I think she said she took 4 in the morning and 4 in the evening with alot of water and it really helped her to not "munch" in between meals. I would like to hear some information on this if any of you know anything. Thanks!!!!

Hi, Pilgreen, & welcome
Congratulations on your baby :bouncing: :bouncing:
I can't attest to fiber pills. I did, however, try some Benefiber for added fiber in my diet. It wasn't great. Did nothing for my appetite and actually causes constipation unless you drink a ton -- and I mean a ton -- of water.
I have had success with adding fiber rich foods in my diet. This helps me feel full. I still snack, but I make sure it's a healthy, nutricious snack, usually one with fiber, too!
If you decide against the pills, try a bowl of steel cut oats in the morning for breakfast. I've been eating these a few days now, and I have to force myself to eat lunch. I'm that full. And if you like a homeade, thick rice pudding, that's exactly what they taste like. Much different than traditional oatmeal. They take a while to cook, but there are some shortcuts. You can boil the water the night before and let the oats sit covered overnight, and breakfast is ready in the morning. You can also put them in the crockpot with some dates and dried fruit so a nice, aromatic breakfast is waiting for you in the morning.
Apples (with skins!), prunes and nuts are good snacks full of fiber. So is a baked potato with the skin...not for a snack, but you can make a nice lunch with a baked potato and salsa or white chili on top. Incorporate some legumes into your meals for added fiber, as well (beans in a salad, Mexican-themed dinners, you can add a can of refried beans...get fat-free or vegatarian, tho...they taste the best and don't have chemicals).
Hey, I snack, too. The trick is to snack on foods that will fill you up, not make you even hungrier, and get some vitamins and nutrients in you :D
Good luck to you & keep us posted!

Pillgreen.
I am in agreement with what Lynse advised you. Real fiber from whole foods are a much better source. I have lost almost 2 sizes in 8 weeks and I am never hungry..Lisa
