About 5 years ago a hygienist had me start using a waterpik to help control my gum problems. I was told to use about 1 tablespoon of household bleach in the 35oz reservior, as this would help control the bacteria that caused gum problems.
About 6 months ago I changed hygienist and the new one said to stop using bleach because it killed the good bacteria in your mouth and begin using Viadent. Said to use 2 capfuls in the 35oz reservior.
I have found that the bleach was doing a better job controling my gum problem but it leaves a lousy taste in your mouth but you can pop in a few pepperment to get rid of the taste.
I am looking for pro and con to using one over the other and is the bleach killing the good bacteria if there is any in your mouth.
Thanks!
