Been a while, back again. Slipped last weekend and took two hydros. Had been >6 mos.

Why do I still have hydro in the house? Good question. I guess part of me feels like if I were stronger I could just take them when I really needed them for pain, not to mention the amount of money spent on that bottle. Denial? Oh yes, serious denial.

I was confronted with this. I was told I wasn't serious about recovery. I came home, stood in the bathroom with the bottle for at least 10 minutes fighting with myself. Just do it, what is wrong with you! But, but I might... I could... What if I just... I could hide them...

Then, I closed my eyes and dumped them in the toilet. There they were, a little yellow pile of norcos. Hundreds of dollars worth of illicitly obtained norcos. I was going to flush them, in a little ceremony to celebrate my freedom. The Flushing of the Hydros.

Then remembered, oh yeah, we have really bad plumbing. So I had to wait until they dissolved. A little anticlimactic, but funny, too. But did make a satisfying cloudy swirl in the end.

FLUSHED MY HYDRO. Yeah. :bouncing:

That truly took great strength and determination. And not to mention how great I know you felt. That was another big step in your road to recovery. And you know we take many tiny baby step (especially in the beginning). Have a great Sunday, enjoy your life without being in a brain fog.

Tasted a bit like you would expect yellow narcos + 2000 Flushes Blue to taste... like licking a urinal cake, but green.

Hee hee, but seriously, had overwhelming urge to sell them. But no matter how hard I tried to picture myself, hovering on the border of some high school... basically I'm a chicken. But free-range, organic, morally superior chicken.

Well done, the money spent on them doesn't matter, because alternatly you would have used them and suffered the pain that you know to well or if you sold them you'd be in the circles that you will do be best to avoid.

I think that's a huge steo forward in your recovery. I remember a guy in AA who had a can of beer mounted on his wall in a kind of picture frame and he said it was a reminder of how strong he was now; anyhow there came a time when he used that stregth to rip apart the frame, lol.

I don't know if you're going to a 12 step group, I do, and I get my strength from my fellow recovering friends and most importantly my personal relationship with God. I can choice not to use, but the staying stopped is what I need help with.

Way to go!!!! Huge step forward. It took alot of guts to do that. Don't you feel great about doing it now?

I'm with Blaster...some say it's not for them but 12 step groups have been my savior. Some of the best people you'll ever meet come to those rooms and they'll walk through the fires of hell for you if ya need it.

Thank you SK777. I have been clean 27 days and wondered why I kept a bottle of Vicodin. Now I know....seems to me I need a flushing ceremony to finally be free.
