View Full Version : I have questions on removing gum tissue surrounding third molar

my lower right 3rd molar is slightly covered with gum tissue, and it has recently become infected.

I am not a rich man, so i am considering cutting out just enough tissue to uncover the upper portion of the tooth.

my operating procedure is simple, a little bit of vodka & a razor blade.

My questions are:

1. Can the gum tissue grow back over the tooth again?, & if so is there anyway i can prevent this?

2. Is there anything i can use after the operation, to prevent infection of the exposed gum tissue, while it heals.(i was thinking lots of cotton & listerene)

3. Is there a wax? or something similiar available, that i can use to cover the gum tissue, while it heals.

4. should i avoid eating solid foods while the gum tissue heals?

5. how much should i expect to pay, if i decide to have a dentist remove the lower right 3rd moler.
