I probably have the most anxiety when I have to mow my lawn. The reason is becuase when the engine is running I can't hear an approaching car, so when a car passes, I.. uh.. almost kind of jump :o It's very embarassing and wish it wouldn't happen. Does this ever happen to anyone else?

Yes Iam very jumpy. When my anxiety is at a high I am much worse. Anyone, including my children, if they come up behind me and I don't hear them and they tap me on my shoulder, or say hey mom when they are right next to me but I don't know they are there will make me jump out of my skin. My daughters have come up behind me and hit me on the arm while saying hey mom. Not a hard hit just a pat, You know , how kids do! Anyway I scream even sometimes. Scares them as well.....So yeah........I know what your going through.

of course all anxiety sufferers are more tense and jumpy than they need to be, sometimes this just is because of habit
