Okay so I've heard about this Zig-Zag diet, but I've heard a few different variations of it. Some have a 3day cycle of below maintainence level calories, then one day of maitainence, then back down for another 3days..and so on. Another form of the diet was eating a low-calorie diet for 5-6 days, then "pigging-out" for one day. The whole idea is to not let your body become accustomed to a low-cal diet and hit a plateau, or to gain lean muscle while still losing body fat.
Anyways...
I was wondering if anyone knew any more information about this type of diet. I've been on a 1200 calorie diet for a while now. I hit a plateau a while ago, then one day I just felt like eating alot, so I did, and the weight started coming off again.
Do you think that eating 1200 calories for 6 days, the on 1 day of eating a lot is a bad idea? And when I say a lot, I mean it, some days I just feel like eating and I'll just let myself..then drop back down to 1200 calories. Can this have a negative effect? Or will it aid in weight-loss? I'm kind of confused as to how much "pigging-out" is alright...
Help anyone?...
