Hi everyone I have been reading alot of the posts on here and find them very helpful and interesting. I was just wondering if anyone is taking Endronax for their depression. I have been taking it for about 2 months now and I am still depressed. I see my Pdoc fortnightly and I am going to ask to try something else. Has anyone had any success with taking this drug????
Thanks in advance Colby11 :)

Edronax etc. (Reboxetine)
Edronax etc. (Reboxetine) is a member of a new group of antidepressant medications called selective Noradrenaline Reuptake Inhibitors (NARIs). Reboxetine works by restoring levels of the neurotransmitter noradrenaline and does not seem to affect other neurotransmitters like serotonin or dopamine. Low levels of noradrenaline in the brain are thought to be a cause of depression. However, traditionally, the role of noradrenaline in mood disorders has been somewhat neglected in favor of serotonin. Reboxetine has a half-life of approximately 13 hours which means it needs to be taken twice a day.

Hi Everyone, thanks for your responses in regard to this Drug.
I spoke to my Pdoc about it yesterday, telling him I was not
feeling any better on it. He told me to keeping trying it
and increased my dose to 8mg/day. (its the only drug I am
taking atm). I was DX as mildly BP and he is trying me
out on this new drug that has only been around for about 12 months.
I have had many up's and down's thoughhout my life, but the last
manic type episode that i had would of been the worse I have ever had.
Lost my job through it and alot of friends as well. So atm I am feeling
very guilty about my actions and also in denial about being DX as BP.
From what I have been reading on alot of the posts here, they have been
very helpful and encouraging. I'll battle on as we all seem to do and do
my best to cope.
Thanks Colby11.

:) Colby11 :
I hope that by inceasing your dose (of Edronax) will be the positive answer for your depression. With many "ups and downs" and a last "heavy" manic episode,in your life;your pdoc will need to consider Lithium, a mood stablizer.
There come a time when we need to be honest with ourselves. The Dx of Bipolar Disorder will be accepted by you once you are stablized and feel better. :)

Thanks Eyes for your encouraging reply. I know I have a bit of a way to go to get myself feeling good and stable. I have noticed that I have had a headache on and off since increasing my dose to 8mg/day of Edronax. I have checked around on the net and I can't seem to find many other people taking the drug to get some feedback from.
The Pdoc that I see, says he hopes that I will eventually become drug free and be able to cope on my own????? Not sure whether I should go and see another Pdoc.
Thanks Colby11

Colby11 :
Perhaps a second opinion from a different pdoc is needed when you have not been able to find information about this "new" Edronax drug. If your headache continues, and you don't seem to feel better from your depression, a choice has to be made. A different pdoc can start with a established antidepressent and Lithium as a mood stablizer. It has been my experience, being BP for 43 years, and taking Lithium for 35 years, that my stability is with Lithium for Life ! :)
Keep in touch.
