I've seen propranolol and other beta blockers used to help anxiety. It's usually prescribed as needed for short-term treatment to relieve performance or situational anxiety (predictable, time-limited stressful situations like public speaking / performing, air travel, examinations etc.). It works by reducing the amounts of noradrenaline and adrenaline caused by stress and anxiety, and can help ease physical symptoms like trembling.
As you know, you are on a low dose for anxiety treatment.
Good luck.

I have a stash of propanonal saved for things like giving speeches, job interviews, dates...things that would make me shake cause I'm so nervous. My hands would shake and my lips would quiver bad...it was humiliating! So I take a couple for special occasions.
My doc said they give it to musicians, like guitar players cause they need steady hands and if they're nervous and their hands are quivering...thats a prob.
Funny story...I was going bungee jumping and when I was getting closer to my turn I was freaking out so I took a few propanonol (and xanax). Everytime someone jumped, afterwards the guy would tell them to hold out their hand...their hand would be shaking and he'd say: "yea...you got your money's worth" (I guess cause of the adrenilane rush).
When I was going I was so scared I almost cried and then I did it, it was fun and he told me to hold out my hand and I did and my hand was completely steady...the guy looked at me amazed, he said...Look at that, your hand it so steady you could perform surgery." heehee

I take it, have for years but for my heart. I wouldn't recommend taking it for certain occasions at all!!! It slows the HR rate which is what I take it for.
Never did a thing for my Anixety though. Lexapro and the Beta Blocker work great though.
