Hi,

I'm a male and I have a mole along my wasteline, maybe a little below.

Who should I ask my mom to take me to? The mole doesn't really bother me, it's more for 'cosmetic' reasons. It's fairly small but it's above the skin and it's somewhat gross. It wouldn't hurt, in the long run, to get it removed.

Who do I go to? I once went to a dermotoligist for acne, would he be the one? Or should I ask to go to my pediatrition?

It's small.. Very small but it's above the skin. How would they remove it? I'm not really worried about scaring because of the position it's in as well as the size. Would it hurt :nono: .. I would be kind of embarressing considering the position of the mole.

Go to your primary care physician first. MOST health insurance companies require that you see your PCP first so he can give you a referral to see a specialist. Not all insurance companies operate this way, but most do. And you are right...you will want to see a dermotologist depending on what your PCP has to say. If he/she feels that it is necessary to see a specialist, he/she will provide you with a referral to see one.

What are the chances of needing stiches? I did some reading and sometimes that is needed? The mole isn't even the size of a tic tac.
