View Full Version : Perhaps I've been using the wrong word

I just want to clear something up here if I may. I've always called the sensation I get from time to time over various parts of my body a "tickling" sensation and not too many of my fellow anxiety sufferers seem to be able to relate to that so perhaps I'm using the wrong word. Perhaps it is more of a tingling sensation or something. Anyway, I get these on my face, arms, legs, shoulders and other places. They only last a second but then I'll start worrying about them and think that I've got some horrible disease (I'm also a hypochondriac). The best way I can describe these sensations is if someone were to take a hair or a feather and briefly touch you with it somewhere on your body. It would tickle or tingle a little bit. Sorry, I can't think of any other way to describe it and I have a lot of other wierd symptoms too (most if not all, relating to anxiety). Anyone else here experience this?.

might be from the fight or flight response which many anxiety sufferers get, it restricts the bloodflow, usually to the extremeties of the body to lessen bleeding during a lifethreatening episode
this causes tingling, pins and needles or numbness
it would help to learn new ways of relaxing and calming yourself

look up fight or flight response on the net
too much sleep can be from depression or sometimes just boredom

Somewhat. My tingling sensation feels more like a lighter version of my leg falling asleep. This is usually followed by face flushing, then I worry about if my face is red, and so on..
