Which board would be best bet for this question?

Kind of an odd problem, not sure if its sciatica or not.
If I sit, with my wallet in my back pocket, I develop an ache down my right leg which ends up in my knee, where it becomes intense. Then it'll last for days, making it difficult to sleep or sit. Always shifting. It will subside after a few days. If I sit without my wallet, I do not develop this problem. Any one else experience anything like this? It seems to occur most often while driving for any distance. If I remove my wallet, nothing, no pain. Could this be sciatica related? Any ideas. I'll ask my doc next visit, just curious for now.

Thanks. :)

I just got over a bout with sciatica (my first and hopefully my last) and what I had was pain that started in the very lower part of the left side of my back. It ran down my butt, into my leg (pain in the front of my leg below the knee
was very intense) and all the way down into one of my toes, which also was a bit numb. I was diagnosed by both a chiropractor and my doctor and both described what I had as a classic case of sciatica. What you have could indeed be related to that, but based on what I had and what I have heard from others sciatica pain rarely ends at the knee. I would definately check with a doctor or chiropractor soon because whatever it is that you have could get worse if you do not do something about it. I would also stop carrying my wallet in the back pocket since you mentioned that it makes your condition worse.

Good

You might not have a condition at all. It sounds like your wallet is compressing your sciatic nerve when you sit on it. It probably gets slightly injured from this and then gets sore for a few days. It sounds like if you lose the wallet you'll be fine. I had true sciatica and it didn't just last a few days and then go away.
