everytime i hear that my sisters friends (s) are coming round to our house, my heart starts pounding really fast, and i get all shaky, like today i found out my sister and one of her friends where coming round after school, and then my heart started pounding and hands shaking, and i was doing cross-stitch when it happened so i couldn't concentrate on it, so i stopped and went on the computer, my sisterf friend is still here, but my pounding of my heart and shaking of my hands have gone, it's not an exciting feeling coz she's coming round, i don't like it when they do, coz they make so much noise, i think it's nervousness or something, i even don't like it when in the school hoildays my sister sometimes has one of her friends round for a whole day, and sometimes if they are in the lounge and i wanna get to the kitchen i have to cross through the lounge to get to it, and if they are sitting in the lounge, i hate coming down to go into the kitchen in front of them, i dunno why...i did it yesterday though, she came round and i thought she wasn't here, so i came downstairs and she was sitting in the chair with my sister, nothing happened, i just walked passed, my heart pounded a little... it's very weird, and i think it's a bad shyness isn't it? if not, what else?

Hi
anxiety sufferers are often oversensitive to noise, earplugs can help
some valium type meds would be a big help for you, taken only as needed, if you can get any
a beta blocker med helps calm the heart
do try to learn new ways of calming and relaxing yourself, above all, dont tenseup or fight back when suddenly anxious
you should make an effort to cope with the friends and not try to avoid them

I agree with hry33. Stressors will NEVER go away, but we can work on our anxiety and try to get rid of that.

I have got this 1001 ways to relax little book, i'm reading it, but i'm not up to the bit where it says about People yet...i will read those pages soon...When i did come down the stairs, i walked passed then i felt a little bit happy that i have done it, maybe i should do it again, next time they are in the lounge, and if i keep doing it, i will get better and won't get so nervous and pounding heart and shaking hands....i guess i also get nervous coz i'm worried that they could shout something nasty at me, when i walk passed, or they give me the silence when i walk in the room, and it makes me nervous that they going to talk about me behind my back...i suppose i'm very sensitive...
