A few years back I tried Meridia and ended up being put on Blood pressure meds because of it...I honeslty do not think diet pills are worth the risks..Lisa

ya..most Diet pills are not worth the risk. and really dont help that much.

If you are gonna take something the only thing I would really recommend is Green Tea. It has been proven to help with weight. as well it has many other Health Benefits.

I took phentermine and had great results w/ them.......Side effect for me was dry mouth and if I didn't stay busy my heart rate would increase.......I took them the beginning of last Feb. for 4 months.....When I started them I weighed almost 170 at 5'1 and dropped to 112........And still at 112....Don't diet or eat healthy but some how the weight stayed off.....May not be for everyone but it did work for me......

OK, to answer the question I tried the original Xenadrine years ago, took it as directed, had NO adverse side effects and it worked beautifully. Wish I could find some of it still. I'm going to try spirostim, I found a place online that still sells it so I keep ya'll posted. Secondly, A Moore asked for any good thoughts, I don't understand why people who are against any kind of diet pill post a reply in the first place, we know ther are people who are against them, and we respect your opinion. But when I check for replies to a post such as this I hope to find actual answers and not replies that dispute the question. So just a suggestion, if you are completely against diet pills, don't reply. Answer a post that will aid someone with an issue you DO support. No offense intended just a thought.

I have used tetracal by betastatin in the past coupled with a low carb diet. I used it to get that last 5-10 pounds off and it worked.

Scooter I have used spirostim, it does work, but the diet/exercise recommended for it is very intense, but if you can stand it for 2 weeks which is what I believe the programs is then it's worth it.

This isnt really a healthy thing to do. When You eat really has little effect.

IF you eat 1500 calories in a day and you Burn 2500 then the net result is -1000. this isnt gonna change regardless of when you eat those calories.

Phentermine worked VERY well for me. I took it beginning in May and I lost 52 pounds as of September 1. I was on a very healthy diet and exercised every day so that helped. If all you are looking for is a quick weight loss, diet pills won't help. They work well with diet and exercise, but alone, you're just starving yourself and any weight you lose will be right back on.

Diet pills are like the icing on a cake when it comes to weight loss. In most cases, they are not the answer to a weight problem.

Think about it, no matter what diet you follow or diet pill you take; losing weight is all about burning more calories than you eat.

calories you eat > calories you burn = weight gain
calories you eat = calories you burn = no change in weight
calories you eat < calories you burn = weight loss

Some diet pills help you eat fewer calories (blockers, suppressants), others can help you burn more (burners, boosters).

Unfortunately, there is not 1 diet pill that works for everybody. People react different to the content of diet pills (caffeine, Hoodia Gordonini, Green Tea Extract, etc.). You can try different pills or go by what others tell you. If you start taking diet pills try to use them as a back up, but make sure they don’t endanger your health.

For a good and lasting result combine the diet pills with changing the number of calories you eat and/or burn.

Remember that when it comes to weight loss there such thing as a quick fix.

I'm on thermorexin. I like it. It doesn't do it for me, but it helps me.

lol... good good. Yeah my mom's a family doctor but she wasnt home when I wanted it measured so I took her little tool and did it myself... That's why I did it wrongly and it came out way too high. Later she did it for me and it was like 120/80... something like that. Before I was on these pills my BP was about 100/60 though but I don't see a problem with this.

I've never had luck with any type of diet pill, whether it was prescribed by a doctor or over the counter. Everything made my heart race and I felt jittery or sick. I don't know how people can use em. Join a gym and talk to a nutritionist, they can help you formulate a good diet with foods you'll like. Do a cardio workout 3 times a week and drink lots of water. Believe me, you'll lose weight and it will be a healthy way of doing it. Diet pills may make you sick like a lot of people. If you're trying to lose weight, do it with a healthy perspective so that you can maintain your weight loss and not hurt yourself.

Don't eat or take anything with chromium. I worked in a steel foundry for five years shovelling chromium alloy into a furnace. It's the nastiest stuff and one of the most cancerous alloys around. Remember the movie Erin Brokavidge (spelling?) Anyways, chromium does not promote weight loss like fitness magazines claim. Unless you count the weight loss after getting cancer.

agree that excess chromium, like any metal can be unhealthy.

however if you have a deficiency, which some people do, chromium will help with weight loss. Though most "normal" people do not have a chromium deficiency. Chromium deficiency (and other mineral deficiencies) are actually most common in atheletes and people that do excessive physical labor.
