Hi all, i am having pain in back lower moler, problem is no dental in town for me with crappy insurance so i had to got to e.r. for referal, also no big deal my problem is the pain in this tooth is trippen me out, ive had my share of absess's and this doesnt feel like an absess so i am curous if pain could be from a cavity or the fact that its chipped and cracked a bit, i do go to dentist but not till 13th of aug. pain is mostly contoled with tylenol and sometimes half of a vicodin.

The pain could be from all those things you mentioned. If the nerve isn't dead yet, you probably don't have an abcess yet, but can still have tooth pain. Waiting 'till the 13th of August is awfully long if you are in a lot of pain. Best wishes!
