Hi,I just found this site and hope I can give and receive support from others who are in my situation. My hubby and I ttc for 4 years and no reason could be found, altho he is 36 and I am 40,so my age has been the only thing against us.I never planned on late motherhood,it just turned out that way due to circumstances of my life. I have just gone thru the e/c and out of only 6 eggs collected, only 1 fertilized,a grade 1,so altho all our hopes are resting on our one egg,we are trying to be positive. I find out on the 11th Nov in 8 days if the IVF
has been successful and after the emotional rollercoaster of getting this far,the wait is sheer agony. I would love to hear from any other ladies out there in who are,or have been in this situation.

I know you've alreday have been on DH22's thread during her 2ww. So you know that it does work. I had 4 eggs transferred, none of which were grade 1's. And I still did it! So it can happen! I found if I kept myself busy during the time, then it went by fairly fast. I had more anxiety closer to the actual date though. But I was more emotional as I had started to bleed! I freaked! But now...........I know I was just ...well....emotional!

I went in yesterday and they found one beautiful growing little baby! I could even see his heart beating. After going through a miscarriage, this was a huge releif to me.

I'm 41 as you may know, so doing this at our age is not an easy task. I don't want to rain on your day, but if you remember that you can do this again, and if need be (and you are alright with it) you can use donor eggs. Our eggs aren't so great at our age. Sounds like you did well getting 1 very good egg though! I hope and pray for you that it turns out to be a beautiful baby in your arms in 9 months!

Much baby dust coming your way!

Sorry to hear about your news. It's always tough to go thru something like this and not have it work. With luck your 2nd attempt will be a charm.

Kay,

I'm so sorry to hear your news. I was so hoping for another older success story!

I hope that the second try goes much better. I'm not a religious person, but I pray for everyone on this site to realize their dreams of having a child....I pray for myself.....I'm praying for you! Much happiness and success to you and your DH.
