Hi everyone,
Day 2 of my Forteo, and its a lot easier than I expected. The needle, is so small I can almost not feel it. So for those of you who are afraid of the needle part of this, don't let that stop you.
I am on an 18 month program, and due to my blood calcium / kidney stone issues, they are going to do blood, and urine work on a regular basis.
My kit was home delivered, and 2 days later Paul, my nurse came here to do the demo.
Travel bag is small as some have said, so Saturday I am out shopping for a jumbo kids insulated lunch bag. I want one with wild graphics on it.
I will keep in touch as to how its going, side effects if any, etc.

I'm glad you got started on the Forteo without any problems. I was also leary of needles but learned real quickly. That's service when you have the medical professionals come out to your home. Getting an insulated lunch box is a good idea as the thing they give you in the kit doesn't work very well especially in a hot climate. I bought a nylon insulated lunch box that is the shape of the old lunch buckets. There is a top compartment that I put an ice pack in, the second larger compartment also holds an ice pack and the pen inside it's box, and then I put a paper bag inbetween so the ice isn't directly touching the pen box. This will work for about 6-7 hours ok. I'm taking off tomorrow so I'll be packing mine up in the morning. For longer trips, I use the ice chest that is sent each month from the pharmacy.

Well, welcome to the ranks of Forteo users, BoneMan! Surprising, isn't it, how easy the Forteo injections are to do after all our sweating and worrying about being able to "jab" ourselves? Surprising too, that the abdominal injections ARE more comfortable than the thigh injections. That one really boggled my mind! Not that the thigh injections are uncomfortable or a problem but I virtually feeling nothing, including the "*****" in the abdoment but sometimes do feel a mild "*****" in the thigh. Weird. Fingers crossed the Forteo works for all of us!! A miracle would be nice: our bone density back up to where it should be for our age. (Or even a little better).
