 I just found out today by my dr I have a bladder infection and was told to go to wal mart and get Azo for it. She said it was cheaper than most medicine she could write me out and it works just as good. Anyway has anyone had one and I am ovulating now and curious if it will affect anything. Thanks!

Hi,
I have never heard of using over the counter meds to cure a bladder infection. I have had my share of them! Azo and other otc meds can relieve the pain associated with urinary tract infections. But Azo- does not cure the underlying infection. A bladder infection can become serious if not treated with antibiotics. Antibiotics are very inexpensive. I would really recommended going to the DR and getting treatment. I'm shocked a DR told you to just take Azo!

It's is absolutely best to take antibiotics for a bladder infection. In fact, if they've taken a urine sample they can tell just exactly what kind of antibiotics will work best -- although they might not need to do this. It is REALLY IMPORTANT to treat a bladder infection ASAP with antibiotics (and take every last one of the pills) because untreated or undertreated bladder infections can lead to kidney infections...which can end up in a hospital stay (not to mention lots of horrible symptoms). Things can get very serious. Please get this taken care of and then you can get back to procreating!
P.S. Antibiotics during ovulation should be no problem at all.
