I have a very quick question - how long/many days do you get partial ferning for on the ovulation microscope  , i have had it for four days now and suspect im due to ovulate around monday.

Any help is appreciated ;)

Hi SammieP. I'm not sure on the ferning question, because I just used the ovulation sticks, but I had a question for you about a post of mines. You responded to a post I had about the fibroids during pg and you were telling me about your friend that had the surgery. I was just wondering what ever became of your friend/pg/fibroids? I'm supposed to get this surgery in a few weeks and I was just curious.

Hi there, she is doing really well and so is the baby, she ended up having to have her right ovary removed as the cyst was too big but the doctors said that she will still be able to concieve in the future with just one ovary. She stayed in hospital for 3 days and has been signed off work for six weeks, she said that the surgery made her feel more tired than normal but that is understandable. She is doing really well and i think she is now 15 weeks along.

Good luck and let me know how you get on :)

Thanks for your response Sammie. I'm glad your friend is doing OK. I am petrified that I may have to have this done, or possibly have an ovary removed, but your story gives me some hope:-)

I didn't realize you were TTC. Have you tried the ovulation sticks? I bought the ones with 20 sticks and you test everyday around the same time. They worked! I also did the temps and the cm charting. Those were a little off, I felt.

I do charting, cm, cp, o scope, take Clomid (for infertility) the only thing i dont do is the sticks. This month is looking good though, its the first time i have had true partial ferning, its so pretty and its getting more and more each day. Today is CD13 and so we are bding like mad (eod anyway!), temps look normal at the moment and i cant see any hint of a rise yet so im hoping that the next two days they will rise, and then keep rising until i get a BFP ;)

We have been TTC now for 20months now so im hoping we concieve soon, i have an appointment with the fertility specialist on the 5th December and so im hoping i can ring up and tell them that im pg and to give the slot to someone else, it would be a great gift to DH for christmas if i was.

Good luck and if you want to know anything else i shall do my best to help :)

Hey SammieP! I don't know about ferning, but it looks like we are on the same schedule, I should ovulate today too, but after Depo I'm not sure if I will or not. I'm still trying to figure my body out.

I've been kinda keeping up with your story since last March since you and I were both on Depo. Has AF returned without meds yet? I took one dose of Prometrium on Oct 19, but my doc didn't like the side effects so he told me not to take anymore. I did have somewhat of an AF 5 days later so I'm hoping that was enough to kick start everything. Only time will tell though.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and wish you luck this month!

 Hi ALOdem  af has not arrived without the use of meds at all, i have had a hystosalpingogram, endless blood tests, laparoscopy and much more all because i was on the Depo, i am on fertility drugs now and have to go and see a specialist in December. Its such a pain, you think your doing something good by taking Depo so as not to get caught un awares, but then when you want to TTC it takes forever because of it! It stinks really

Anyway good luck and hope it happens for you soon.

I am only planning on one baby so hopefully this won't ever be an issue for me again! {removed}
Do you know if you ovulated this month? I've been waiting for Depo to clear and just now have gotten started watching for signs so I'm still not sure what's going on with me yet.

I have had monthly blood tests for the last 5 months and apparently last month showed an indication of Ovulation so im hoping that this month will too, today is CD14 and cp is high, soft and open, i had full ferning this morning and cm is watery so things are looking up.

My doc wouldnt do anything for fertility until i had been off the Depo for 1 year but he put me on the gynecology waiting list at 9 months so things would move a little faster. It has been a long 20months believe me but the fact that i had my first full ferning today is giving me some hope.

Have you any idea if you have ovulated since coming off the Depo?

It sounds promising for you this month! :bouncing:

Nope, no idea if I have ovulated. I had started checking cm and cp in August, but nothing was going on. Since I took the Prometrium cm changed to more of a lotion instead of a tacky cream and yesterday it seemed to be changing to a watery sort of EW, but since we bd last night I can't really tell what's it's doing today. Cervix seems a lot softer and maybe slightly open now. I have acrylic nails and it's open just enough to fit the tip of my nail (sorry, I know that's weird and tmi) Last month it was pointed towards my rear so I couldn't tell what the opening was like. It's hard to really tell just going my memory.

Anybody know if this is normal?

Yeah 4 days sounds about right Sammie, whats todays ferning like?

I now have less days of ferning, as my body is recovering, i used to have about 4, but that was when i ovulated around cd 29. Now the last two cycles i have ovulated on cd 14 & 15, i only have 1 day part ferning, then 1 day full ferning. I know i definately ovulated, as im taking part in a conception trial with a uk university, and they gave me a fert monitor to play with, it peaked, and i had posative ovulation tests as well. So it can vary how many days you get partial ferning, but 4 doesnt sound abnormal to me.
Goodluck

Yesterdays was a full ferning and todays has nothing on at all, yesterday was cd14 so im hoping that i have ovulated.

Apart from the uni thing how are things with you?

Im ok, getting fed up with the miscarriages, but i suppose everything happens for a reason :)
Fertility clinic are looking into why im having them repeatedly. They are testing for some genetic thing were two peoples chromosomes can apparently 'clash' even though they are both normal. If its that, then there is absolutely nothing that can de done and that will be game over for us a haiving babies :(
Took 9 files of blood off me. Looks like im getting put on metformin, but told they will stop it when i get pg. Whats the point, grrrrrrrr!!!
Met helps stop misscarriages, grrr, fertility doctor is so useless.

Well i get to see mine on the 5th December and im not looking forward to it.

What is Metformin? I have heard people say they are using it but im not sure what it is.

Its a drug normally used for diabetics, but it helps for polycystic ovary syndrome, helps ovulation, weightloss, reduces the miscarriage loss from 40-50% for pcos'ers without met, to about 5% when on met until 12 weeks, so you can see why im so angry with the doc!

sammieP

So really, once pg they should keep you on it until 12 weeks. Its all complicated stuff this! I really do hope that it all works out ok for you and both your chromosomes are compatible.

Thankyou for your help with this and i will be thinking of you ;)
