Hello everyone: Is anyone aware of the drug Milnacipran, developed especially for people with Fibro? It has been in Europe for 6 years and is currently being tested by the FDA. This drug works, honestly. Read about it on the internet and draw your own conclusions. It can be purchased by All Nations Pharmacy in England. I think the US only allows the purchase of 3 boxes for personal use. I know how we all suffer so please, please check this out. God Bless and Good Luck :bouncing:

Im currently taking 150 mgs of Ixel. I have to take it for 3 months and then come off it for 1 week and resume. Not sure why, it just seems to work best. Be sure to take it with your other meds as this also seems to work best. I have found Ixel and Baclofen to be my saving grace. WIth the 150mgs of Ixel and 40 mgs of Baclofen, I have roughly 5 pain free (80% anyway) days whereas before, I would go for months in unbearable pain. Baclofen, unfortunately, stops working for me after 4-5 weeks and I have stop taking it for 7 days and then I continue.
It really is trial and error.
I just found this board tonite and I am so glad this place is here for people like us. I have been reading for the past 4 hours and I now know I am not alone. I thank everyone for their support and understanding.
Thank you!
Jane.

Hey, I have been on lyrica for about three weeks know and it has done little for me. Like you it made me very high the first couple days. I take 150 mg at night and I wake very dizzy. Dizziness has been a huge part of my illness since the begining so I have not been able to take that other pill in the morning for fear that I may have problems taking and picking up my girl from school.
Yesterday my legs felt awful. The pain is so bad it is hard to explain, from my lower back to toes. I can not figure how a 36 year old with perfect weight could feel like this. I think today I will try that daytime pill. That will put me at 300mg in a day. If that dont work nothing will.

My mother-in-law is taking lyrica. She shows promising improvement over her pain with FM. I will NOT take lyrica yet as Ixel and Baclofen work so well for me.
The hard part about this horrible disease are the days where I cannot take Baclofen when I feel its effects wearing off. I then have 7 days of pain to endure but it is certainly worth it for the time the two drugs offer pain relief.
I was at such a low point with FM and with Ixel due to the time it took to work for me. I used to call my ex-husband frantic that this medication would not work for me. My ex found the medication and the publications surrounding it and suggested I take it for awhile. Ixel took 4 EVER to work but I am thanking God I stayed with it because the pain is so much less than before. How on earth can anyone wait for months? Im sure they have medications out there that would relieve our suffering sooner, rather than later but I guess the drug companies have to make their money off us huh?
Ixel does work, it just takes its sweet time. I say sweet time because the pain relief has made the difference. I am 55 years young and now looking forward to the next 55 LOL.
I have written several companies regarding the possible benefits of Baclofen and Ixel taken together. Who knows right? Im sure they wouldnt listen to little ol' me but I still have to try.
Good luck!

Thanks everyone for replying to my post. It was uplilifting to say the least. I am wondering when the Ixel will kick in. When I took it in July, oh my God, it was amazing, in 3 days it worked for me. I was on morphine and oxy at the time. Like a dummy I went for a deep tissue massage which of course, brought the pain back. I had to wait 7 days til it kicked in again. Then my son was late ordering it and I was taking lots of fibre, which you should not when on antidept because it washes it out of your system, so I will say I have been on it for about 12 days now, but no fibre, just lots of water. I tried to Baclofen again but it does not work like it did before. So that is store in the back of my bread box. (That is where I keep my meds). Thanks so much for replying to my post. I appreciate it so much and good luck and good health.

Hi Slo: Glad to hear that Ixel is working for you and yes it takes forever to kick in. I had it in July and was pain free for 2 wks til I did a stupid thing and had 3 deep tissue massages, then something else happened, then the order got mixed up, now I am still waiting for it to kick in. Like yourself, I call my son, panicking about the Ixel, and he says, mom you have to be patient. But when you have had good pain relief you want it back asap. Anyhow I am glad I read you post. At least I know that I am not alone in my anxiety state. Take good care and thanks. P.S. I also went back on Baclofen, was on it in April and tapered off, now that doesn't help. Right now I am on Neurontin and Percocet for pain, but the relief is minimal to say the least. Okay I am going now, thanks again

I tried it and it didn't do much for me at all.
