I know having twitchy eyelids is not that important in the grand scheme of things, and for that matter, not a medical emergency by any means. However, it IS driving me batty at this point

It's been going on for weeks. I know I'm not getting a good night's sleep lately due to other medical issues I am experiencing so that certainly could be the cause. I normally on drink 1 cup of coffee, in the morning and have no caffeine thereafter.

Any ideas of how to stop this - or is there any medication people have been prescribed to help the tremors?

Thanks!

My lower eye lid was starting to twitch big time for a few weeks right before my wedding. Once the wedding arrived and passed so did the twitch. My doctor told me it was stress and must have been right. I didn't feel any stress and told him so at the time but it must have been the case.

I hope it's nothing major for you both and good luck!

I went to an eye doctor last year because my upper eye lid twitched all the time...he told me that stress and/or lack of sleep causes it and there's no treatment (other than get more sleep and try to get rid of the stress)...he said he could inject botox on my eye so that it would relax the muscle, but I think that's a little too drastic....I had the twitching for months and slowly it went away...it comes and goes from time to time now, but overall it's gone.

Thanks everyone for responding to me. Last week, I decided to try taking a valium and see if the relaxation effect helps. Well, interestingly, since then my eye has been fine. I don't know if it's a coincidence, luck or really had something to do with it, but I'm glad to be rid of the twitch.

I used to get twitchy eyelids but I don't anymore turns out all along I was long-sighted. I could see fine and everything though, i even passed the eye test on my drivers licence. But my eyes had been over-working for so long and it made them twitch, plus i got headaches and poor concentration. Now I wear contacts and haven't had any trouble with twitching.
